Now that the question has been answered whether President Musharraf was going to fight the Impeachment Resolution, or not, brought forth by the Coalition Government, speculation now, naturally, focuses on his likely successor?
The two men who most covet the vacated Presidential seat are none other than the two men who orchestrated the Impeachment fiasco to start with, Nawaz Shairf and Asif Ali Zardari, the husband of slain former PM Benazir Bhutto and her party, the PPP,
a man apparantly viewed with increasing skepticizm by the party elite, as the wrong man to see Mrs. Bhutto's aspirations for Pakistan brought to fruition!
The Impeachment action being diavowed by PPP Parlimentarian Chairman Makhdoon Fahim, who called the action "ill timed and to the detriment of the Government" and his refrain...... shortly later echoed by Mrs. Bhutto's own niece , Fatima Bhutto, who stated in London, "this is not the right time to fight with Musharraf"?
And Nawaz Sharif, the deposed PM, Musharraf himself unseated these many years ago. Already worrying Washington with promises to seek yet , another, peace deal with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and leader Baitullah Mehsud?????????
They(TTP) have already broken three previous peace deals????????????????
Spiraling inflation..... a souring economy.....foreign relations challenges.....a raging domestic foreign inspired insurgency in FATA......????????????
The next President...no matter who he is...will have his work cut out for him??????
AND...he will need the support of the Pakistani people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
